YUCA *Japan Tour Blog 4*
Touring Japan was a dream come true. If you’ve read the other blogs I have written about being on tour in Japan then you’ll hear the common theme that I keep coming back to - Japan was glorious and changed my life!
We released a video just a short while ago for our new single “I’m alive she said” (see the video here: http://youtu.be/Bi6r6c5Xvv8) which was filmed in Tokyo on this last tour. When I saw the first take of the video I thought to myself “Man I’m smiling a lot” but from the first clip of Tokyo I was right back there in my heart. I remember what it felt like, the sounds, the smell, the amazing fans, being on tour with amazing band mates and I caught myself smiling all over again.
I love touring. Not only do I get to share the music we create with new fans every day but I get to see absolutely gorgeous places around the world meeting the most amazing people along the way. I remember sitting by myself in Tokyo eating noodles and no one spoke English but they were all so excited to have me there and treated me like a king. I remember arriving in Okinawa to the open arms and huge smiles and again being treated like kings as we were pampered and honestly it was very humbling. Walking around the Shinjuku district and random businessmen asking for autographs and photos – it was all so amazing and memories that will stay with me forever. They honestly changed me and I am ever grateful.
It wouldn’t have happened if we didn’t have people that dreamt with us. That saw our vision, our dream and potential and believed in us. Without hesitation they supported Andy, Dave and I and made this part of our dream come true.
When I got home from this tour I was up at 3am making nachos (I hate the time change coming home lol) and was thinking about my own life and the people around me that mean the world to me. I started asking myself “Do I jump on board their ideas, their dreams, their passions? Do I support them as I hope they support me?” It really got me thinking and more importantly being active in the lives of those that I care for a lot. It’s interesting how we say we support people with our words but our actions say the opposite. Every single fan that became our friend in japan supported us without hesitation and that’s something I rarely see. I want to be the one who supports my friends & families dreams and passions without hesitation.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all those that have dreamt with us and supported us along YUCA’s journey - we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you all. And a very special thank you to our Rising Empire Records family of dreamers and supporters – we are forever grateful.
